I had to attend hated orientation for unemployment this morning. Since I still consider myself a recent arrival to town, I didn't have a very good idea where the building was located. I managed to find it about twenty minutes late. Thankfully the gentleman in charge told me I would still get credit for the class and to let him know if I had any questions.
I met Lance, a recently unemployed gaming programmer. He was reading up on C# databases because he said he needed to have a backup in case he wasn't able to find another job soon. I wish him the best of luck and hope he hears from Midway!!!
I was able to get my resume in to the company with the formerly overflowed mailbox. I talked to the HR person briefly. I may have a to call again in a few days just to check up on the job position.
Last night was a sponsored Happy Hour (HH) at a nearby pub/grill. There were people I hadn't talked to in almost two months. I had a lot of hair cut off recently so I was getting some funny looks from folks I hadn't seen in awhile. It was great to chat with the folks to find out how they were doing and also got a possible job lead from a good friend. Here's hoping that works!!
I have to vacate the PC so the other half can update his training logs. Triathlon athletes are a committed bunch..or they should be!
By the way, I finished "In Her Shoes" today and found it a great read...for anyone who's interested.
